Seoul - United Nations Plaza

It is here that most of the world's decisions are made. The kind of power here reflects in the architecture, with the HUGE UN building that holds the General Assembly. Blue and dome shaped in design, it is the only one in the world of its kind, and workplace to the thousands that work here. The perimeter of the General Assembly building is surrounded the flags of every country that has a seat, which is nearly everyone. Outside are a number of other large office buildings, ranging from delegate bureau's, to the Headquarters of the UN Police, to a Repliforce office. Constantly patrolled and guarded by UN Police, safety is among an utmost concern after the infamous April Fools Day Massacre. Despite that, the place is a very safe environment.

It's a fine evening tonight, cool breeze through the air. Midi steps out of the UN HQ, looking a bit more refreshed than he did when he made that report earlier today. Few hours in the regeneration chamber does wonders for a little reploid. He stretches slightly, walking down the steps. Last night was something else for his little hacker mind. This situation is totally out of his area of expertise, still, he wants to do what he can to help. Of course... now all he has to do is figure out HOW he can help. So he decides to go for a walk, that usually helps to clear his head.

"Wings -- check. Engines -- check. Cameras -- check... Check, check, check..." From the top of the UN building, Stellar checks himself over, preparing for takeoff from the building's heavily guarded rooftop. He gives a thumbs-up to a guard watching nearby, and steps forward. It's been quite a while since he's had a nice flight. Not since he left Lockheed Martin, his 'parents', in fact. He peers down at the Plaza below while his engines fire up, starting their mechanical whine. "This'll be nice, yeah..."

Virgo steals away from guarding Denebola for a while. Thankfully, Luna is there to care for the security, so Virgo has a little time to check up on a few things. First of all, there is a little hacker that Luna recommended. And so, on the steps, there is a Stardroid where there wasn't one before. The way she stands, she looks more like a statue than a real live Stardroid, she just waits for Midi to see her.

[RADIO: (B) World] Guts Man transmits, "Boy it sure is boringly boring tonight. Someone entertain me with monkeys!"

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man transmits, "Just go visit the Repliforcers."

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man transmits, "Should be good enough."

[RADIO: (B) World] Guts Man transmits, "I want real monkeys."

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man pffs. "You're so hard to please, Guts."

[RADIO: (B) World] Rigger transmits, "*bleep* it Guts, if you're bored go *bleeping* *bleep* *bleep* Clown Man. He's probably got some *bleeping* monkeys."

For a moment, lost in thought, Midi walks right past Virgo. Yeah, he has a lot on his mind. However, he stops about two or three paces forward, blinks, and turns around. Well there's a new sight. Midi has never seen Virgo before, but even so, it's pretty obvious there's something about this new visitor. Still, he can't be positive she's a Stardroid or not, but even so, it seems like a no-brainer. "Um... hello?" He starts off, can't be too careful, because if it IS a Stardroid, he doesn't know which just yet.

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man transmits, "Besides-- ..."

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man transmits, "Knowing Rigger, I wouldn't at all be surprised."

[RADIO: (B) World] Rigger transmits, "Remind me to send you all some 'fill in the blank' games for Christmas. You guys really need to work on your *bleeping* creativity when it comes to *bleep* *bleep* insults."

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man transmits, "It's more like we're just bored."

[RADIO: (B) World] Guts Man transmits, "I dunno I can be pretty creative."

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man transmits, "But at least you're sending us *something*."

Stellar idles on the rooftop for a moment more, watching Midi down below. Look at Midi all the way down there, he looks so small...oh wait. Never mind. His gaze returns to the open sky, as the Stardroid below holds no interest for him-- wait a second, Stardroid?

Stellar double-takes, having never seen a Stardroid before, let alone Virgo. He launches upward into the air, a plume of ignited jet fuel billowing out behind him, and swoops downward in the direction of Midi & Virgo. Mmm, tall building.

[RADIO: (B) World] Rigger grunts. "I do owe a few of you gifts regardless."

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man transmits, "Gee."

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man transmits, "Thanks."

[RADIO: (B) World] Yin Yoma Byte muses, "...Maybe I should go all out this Chrismas. ...I do believe I feel the Christmas Spirit coming on."

[RADIO: (B) World] Yin Yoma Byte transmits, "The Question is... ...What bloody body parts do I send to which people..."

[RADIO: (B) World] Guts Man transmits, "How the Byte Ate Christmas."

[RADIO: (B) World] Tengu Man laughs, mocking.

[RADIO: (B) World] Yin Yoma Byte transmits, "Don'"

Frequency b is now gagged.

Virgo turns around as Midi passes and her chains ring in a low tone. Watching him as her presence finally registers on his brain, now that's almost funny. "Hello child." As the sound and energy of Stellar Jay descends on their position, the Zodiac looks up slowly, certain it is not one of the agents of Nigh, but uncertain whether the unknown jay presents a danger to her.

Midi blinks, and recognizes the voice from those intercepted transmissions. "Are you Virgo?" He asks, warming up a bit. For all he knew, she could have been an agent of Procyon. At that thought, Midi blinks, he's sticking his nose into this much farther than he normally would, he could be putting his neck on the line, and Techno's as well. He shakes those thoughts off for now, they're not important. What IS important is that rapid descent-like sound coming from above. He glances upward to see the figure approaching them. He doesn't quite recognize Stellar, having never met him, nor recalling his profile, since he merely skimmed through it. "Now who's that..." He wonders.

Stellar's engines cut, having exerted enough energy to get the bird in the air, and his wings *snap* open. He begins to coast on the air, flat, planed wings giving him just enough lift to fly. He dives downward toward the Stardroid and the hackerbot, swooping around the plaza to slow himself down a little first. Once he's done so, he ends the somewhat impressive display and lands rather ungracefully on the other side of the plaza. "Er, hi! You're Midi, right?" he calls, running over, just sort of regarding Virgo for now.

Virgo watches as the bird makes an awkward landing but makes no outward expression of the pity that she feels for what has to be a new Reploid, the chick who will barely know the world before Nigh absorbs the Earth. The cute little Reploid hacker exhibits the same kind of innocence of the world. She would sigh, but it's such a hopeless gesture. She greets the two of them with a polite nod, "I am Virgo."

[RADIO] Transmission detected: I can't ... my legs! ... ... that back damnit!

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ...

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ... wrong ...

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ...are you ... need ... some help ...

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ... happening ... ...

Midi nods at the newcomer, briefly "Yeah, I'm Midi." He turns back to Virgo, a bit relieved once she confirms her identity. "So um, Miss Virgo, what brings you here?" He hopes it's good news, or something not totally unlike good news, he could use some of that. What with these Doomsday games, Duet vanishing, imprisoned on the moon, stuff like that, this hasn't been a good past few days. It's not a good feeling, to have the world in the state it's in, and feel like you're one of the people that absolutely cannot do anything, and always need to be protected. Midi just wants to be helpful.

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ... ... way Father. The intelligence of the drone ... to repairing my ... ... ... something to ... ...

Stellar Jay nods at Midi. He's heard about the brilliant 'young' hacker, and it's just another hero to check off his list. Yes, he's got a list of people to see! He then turns his gaze to Virgo as he continues to approach, leering at the Stardroid with a certain avian curiousity. "Stellar Jay," he says quietly, in admiration of Virgo's design..he's never seen *anything* like her before...

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ... ... ... the by as a ... calls to the forest ... to ... ... 'Here I ... to ... ... ... report for duty.

Virgo states flatly, "You asked if you can assist us." Now, while that really isn't a question, it certainly sounds like one. But what is the question? What can Midi do? Can he help free Duet on the moon? Can he find some way to defeat the Agents who bring Nigh to this world? What does he want in return? Or perhaps...can he really do anything for the Stardroids? She lets Midi puzzle that out while she catches Stellar Jay leering at her. The Zodiac doesn't quite glare, but she returns with two amethyst eyes gazing straight into the psyche of the bird.

Midi blinks "Um... well, yeah." He thinks, he never really expected to be confronted about it, so soon anyway. Sure, Midi wants to help. Of course, this is the reason he went out for a walk, he never got to put much thought into WHAT he could do as of yet. Of course, the young hacker doesn't want anything in return, he'd be perfectly happy if he could help get things back to normal, for Earth and for the Stardroids. "I... don't really know yet what I could do, but I'm willing to do what's in my power. I want to help set things right..." He looks at the ground idly "I know I'm not strong like Rock, or really smart like Dr. Light, or brave like the General... but I still want to do what I can..." He admits.

Stellar almost recoils as the Stardroid's vibrantly purple eyes seem to gaze into his very soul... He takes a step back, a little bit stunned by the Stardroid. He's heard about them, and frankly...they scare him. He closes his black eyes and gives his head a brief shake before opening his eyes again. "Sorry," he says quietly and sheepishly to Virgo, as an afterthought, while he listens to Midi's speech... "If..." he begins, trying not to intrude. "If it's no trouble...I'd like to help too... Midi's right, we've got to do all we can..."

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ... ... ... pass with ... ...

Bridgit Cascio has arrived.

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ... ... I better not.

Virgo blinks, breaking her scrutiny of the bird, but when the violet orbs open again, her gaze is focused on Midi once again, looking down at his diminutive form. Gracefully, she leans down, tucking her robes in her hands while she looks for a clean place on the steps to sit. Her cloak flutters to the ground as she plants herself on the steps. The Zodiac looks upon the UN plaza and the colored flags of many nations that line it. Turning towards the Reploids, she looks at him eye to eye now, and asks, "And things..why aren't they right? Do you know what you're fighting for? Why risk your life if you don't know what is happening?"

[RADIO] Transmission detected: ... are ... sinister ... ...

Midi umm... well, it's just one of those things you say on impulse you know? He walks up to have a seat himself, pausing for a moment as his interception picks up some static, with the word Peacock in it... he shudders slightly, just thinking it's a coincidence, and sits.

"Well..." He starts off, gazing up at the sky "There's that encroaching nothing... the Nigh as you call it... it looks like it's threatening us, as well as you. You Stardroids seem to be torn up because of it, and now it seems like it's affecting us as well." He sighs "Well, I know we've ALWAYS been war-like, and torn. That's nothing new for us... but even so, this thing is causing problems, fighting, strife, pain, suffering... death... Everything has gone totally awry since we discovered it..." He glances back to Virgo

"Maybe it might sound selfish, but... what I want to fight for, is that life I had. The regular Daily Life I'm used to, you know? Just everyday things like I used to have, without that looming over us." He pauses "A lot of people seem to want you guys gone, some want you all dead, regardless of who's side you're on. I'd like to friends with all of you actually, if it were possible..." He admits "From those I've talked to, Pisces, Aquarius, Luna, Beteljeuse, you, you all seem nice enough. I've been told I'm naive, but I can't help it if I like to take things at face value sometimes. Maybe that's why I'm so willing to help. Maybe I AM naive... but I just want to help, anyway I can."

The bluebird just isn't quite sure of what to make of this. It's true, what Virgo says -- he hasn't the foggiest idea what he's fighting for. Or what's happening. It's been like that since he's gotten here, and it's times like this that make him wish he'd just stayed on testing staff at White Sands... He takes another step back as Virgo speaks, drawing his clawed feet together. He watches for now, wings snapping shut. He has nothing to say, now...

There is a reflection in Virgo's mind, of a girl on another planet, that was very much like the Reploid that sits beside her now. Young, innocent, ignorant of the world, but loving it nonetheless. The girl grew up quickly with the Judgement of her world when her father, the Chaos Will, attempted to kill her, because she was the Child of Order. "Your world sits on the brink...yet again. Due to me, and my brothers and sisters. We brought Judgement down on you, there is no surprise that your brothers and sisters wish our demise."

Virgo rubs the design on her gauntlet, as if she noticed that it was dirty somehow, and continues, "The Nigh has devoured everything in our wake, our path to reach this planet. His agents promise that Earth will not come to harm, but I cannot believe that..." Virgo closes her eyes and shakes her head vehemently, "The universe works on a balance, Order and Chaos, as it has for millenia before my time. I heard rumors that there was something else out there...which we held back by our Judgement. It was our duty to do the Judgement. I thought, Duo was Order personified, until we reached Earth, when it was revealed he was both. And then he died. Without Duo, the universe has lost a great force for Order and Chaos."

Speeeeaking of Chaos, it's exactly that as the doors to the UN Vehicle Garages fly open in a clatter of noise, light spilling out from the repair bays in a soft yellow-white cascade. Silhouetted against the glow for a moment is a diminuitive woman - but she's only small in size as her voice reverberates down the access road and just nudges at the plaza. "FOUR COFFEES, TWO NO CREAM, ONE -- OH HELL, YOU'LL NEVER HEAR ME." A flash of something very large and very gray blurs across the fringe of the plaza, the 'snicksnicksnicksnick' of metal on concrete echoing softly in the night. Footsteps ring on pavement as Bridgit Cascio, the resident tank commander, races after the blur. "GUNNER, SLOW DOWN, Y'OLD BA--oh, forget it, he's gone."

The woman, just at the end of the access road, puts her hands on her knees, bent over, and pants, while a black Labrador dances around her feet gleefully. "Bloody .. pantpant ... speed demons."

[RADIO: (H) None] Dr. Wily transmits, "Challenges eh?"

[RADIO: (H) None] Pharaoh Man transmits, "Yes. Though, I hadn't expected such an act of pure suicide on the part of the accepter."

Midi blinks, taking it all in. "So.... is that what Procyon meant when he said it was our fault? Because we defied the judgement and killed Duo... did that somehow break the seal on that... thing?" He thinks about it for a few moments... it certainly is something to ponder over.

"Well... I don't hate you for it. I don't blame you at all for thinking of us as too warlike... but I told this to Aquarius, there's a lot of good things about this planet too, that I want to help protect." He stops before he begins to sound like a broken record. "So that Nothing's agents say that no harm will come to earth? I don't believe it either, bad guys always lie like that..." At least, Midi THINKS the Nothing is the bad guy here, he wishes it WAS so simple. "So... with Duo gone... is there anyway to seal that back up again?" He turns his head to the direction of Bridgit briefly, that woman is insane...

[RADIO: (H) None] Dr. Wily transmits, "Maybe he wishes a painless death>"

[RADIO: (H) None] Tengu Man transmits, "Please let it be painful."

[RADIO: (H) None] Tengu Man transmits, "Please."

[RADIO: (H) None] Theta Squad CO Sword Man transmits, "I doubt he is suicidal, M'Lord. Simply overestimating his chances, especially considering his past encounters with Sir Ring and Sir Tengu."

Stellar blinks quietly and just stands in front of the steps listening to Virgo and Midi. He's in way over his head. He hasn't the slightest idea what's going on anymore, quite possibly for the millionth time this week. That, and philosophy just ain't his thing. His attention, however, is grabbed by the sound of screeching tires and someone running. The bird's head snaps around, looking for the source of the sound...and he just *blinks*. "...huh?"

[RADIO: (H) None] Tengu Man transmits, "No kidding."

[RADIO: (H) None] Tengu Man transmits, "Quick helped, too."

Virgo nods solemnly to Midi, "Killing Duo brought the Judgement to an end and could have unsealed the monster. Fighting for survival brings a new kind of attitude that your people have dealt with for ages. It's not unique in the universe, but it is unique for us. There has never been a time when balance was so out of skew. Most of us have forgotten what it was like to be mortal and to live on the same terms as you." She shakes her head again, but there is a small frown, "Duo left the pendants here for us, but the message contained in them has been lost. I do not know whether there is a way to seal Nigh back up. Perhaps there isn't any way, but perhaps it also could be right in front of us but we do not recognize what it is."

He sighs... he's just guessing, he could be dead wrong... it's the only thing that seems obvious now from what he's heard. Virgo says, "No, it's too late for the pendants. If we had uncovered the pendants..." instead of greedy, power-hungry earthlings..."Then it might have. Besides, Enker's pendant has been drained by Procyon. Without all the pieces, then it is useless." Midi is the only one asking questions, looking for answers, trying to find some way to undo the damage that has been done, even if he was not responsible for it. "Thanks to one of the pendant bearers, I have heard and seen what the pendants told the bearers when they were all brought together...so the message was not /completely/ lost as I said before, but there could have been more."

Midi bites his lower lip in thought. Well so much for that idea. ".....sorry." He says, like he's apologizing for the entire planet "I wasn't involved in that whole chase but.. from what I heard everyone was in an uproar over it. So much fighting..." He shudders slightly, what if HE had gotten Sunstar's pendent, had he been around? He'd might have become the enemy of the world, of Rock... no use dwelling on the past, especially for things that haven't happened yet.

He spends another moment thinking... there HAS to be something else... then a rather frightening idea strikes him "...this Nothing... does it pose a greater threat to the entire Universe? What if it's saying it'll leave us alone for a reason?" He looks up at Virgo, a complex mix of fear and wonder on his face "...what if it wants us alive? What if... ... our 'judgement' being carried out is the one thing that would reseal it and set things right again?"

Bridgit Cascio frowns quietly as she fiddles with Einstein's ears, watching the bunch in the square quietly. She doesn't seem too eager to rush forward and investigate - besides, who can trust Stardroids, or anyone else these days?

Virgo gapes at Midi, utterly stunned that he should think such a thing. There is the possibility that Midi may be right. Intelligence and innocence wrapped in one little body can come up with some harsh theories. It's a long while before she answers. "I would not want to judge Earth again, and I doubt that you would truly want us to either."

Midi is silent too... no it's NOT a nice thought, but all the same... "Tell me... DOES the... Nigh pose a great threat to the galaxy? ...could our judgement stop it?" Virgo may not have the answers... but now Midi will feel guilty. He almost wishes he didn't think of that... no more rotten feeling than living due to someone else's death.

"I.... can't speak for everyone. I... really don't wanna die, but... I don't know if I could feel right living either if our existance kept the Nigh going..." He sighs, voice almost quavering a bit "I hope there's another way, but... if there isn't... I don't think that we'd take judgement lying down. And then it'd all just happen again... maybe we should have been destroyed..." He blinks "....or what if we were judged... worthy?"

Ninjutsu Gecko finally gets within earshot, and freezes his body, not making a single sound, watching, listening. This could be interesting....maybe. Or maybe not. But no such thing as totally worthless information when you're trying to gain what he hates to refer to as illegal access.

Virgo steeples her hands and looks far into the night, "I do not know. Nigh..." She purses her lips to start speaking words that she does not say. "It is nothing that we have encountered before. It is called Nothing. No thing. It can mean there will be nothing, no suns, no planets, no people."

Although Virgo does not move, there is a sound, a tinkling of bells that surrounds her. A warning from her recovering weapon. Someone is here. She turns slightly looks towards the Gecko's direction even though he's not easy to be found.

Midi pauses. "Devour everything.... except us... if it is indeed keeping us alive which is keeping it unsealed... Unless it find some way to eventually get rid of us too..." He doesn't notice Gecko, nor does he notice Virgo noticing Gecko, as he's still thinking things over. What a truely frightening thing he has thought of, what if it's right? How could he decide... how could the entire Earth decide? Sure, there'd be those who would sacrifice themselves for the rest of the Universe... but the entire planet?

Ninjutsu Gecko furrows his brow. It's the feeling that every sneak gets. That feeling, that hint....down in his or her gut. It goes roughly as 'Oh poop on a stick I think I've been found out.' Silently, he unlocks his frame, just incase this feeling has merit. He frowns...this isn't working well...really..if she noticed him, she must have some major skills...

Virgo turns back to Midi after smiling, oh yes, a rare smile to Ninjutsu Gecko. "I overheard someone saying...that Procyon promised that Nigh will not be so lenient as Duo. I do not know what that means, but your planet may be destroyed anyway."

Midi hmms... and nods, an odd smile on his face "Yeah... sounds like the type of thing a bad guy would do..." He sighs, and looks up at the sky "So.... now what?" He blinks, the stars would be a calming sight right now... if they weren't be blotted out "I wish I could be of more help....." He looks back towards the Plaza "It may not be much... but let me know if I can help out in any way..."

Ninjutsu Gecko does NOT like that smile. Not in the slightest. He keeps on his gaurd, but keeps his hands all but his defensive weapons. Whoever they are, they might be UN personel (sp?)...and beating up those kind of folks won't look well on his application. Slowly, silently, he slinks backwards. Well this sucks...he might not even be needed, it would seem. Atleast only one is apparently aware of his presence.

Virgo's eyes crinkle with another smile, not that all-knowing one that she gave the Gecko, but one closer to her heart. "You are not useless Midi. You are the true heart of the people of earth, and I think of things that people may not consider, just by talking to you." Virgo stands, "Hope is what you can give. Thank you." And her form vanishes into the night, with the miniature stars of her cloak twinkling, almost for Midi's distinct wish.

Midi blinks as Virgo departs. Staring at the stars intently until they fade, then he gazes back up at the sky. "...hope huh? Pisces told me the same thing..." He sits there for awhile longer, before eventually heading back inside, it's getting cold out.

Ninjutsu Gecko furrows his brow even more. No good. He quickly slinks off. No time for testing. If he's going to make a show, tonight has to be the night. He watches Midi head inside...to obvious...he looks up top. He bullets, silently, towards the wall, and scampers up it, a dark blotch on a dark wall...the roof likely has an entrance...
