Palace of Power - Danger
Room
A massive chamber filled with holographic emitters, combat drones, and weapons beyond count, this is the training room for people at the Palace. Originally a little-used room, this place has grown more popular of late, and is a common sparring place for people in the Palace of Power. Battles here are carefully monitored, and any real damage dealt is quickly healed by skilled nurses. However, this place is not a magical place of no damage; battles here are real.
<Fac-Palace> Yuffie Kisaragi says, "Hey,
tomorrow's the big fight, right?"
<Fac-Palace> Noa says, "...Which big fight? X vs. Bowser?"
<Fac-Palace> Yuffie Kisaragi says, "The one Zigs is fighting in."
<Fac-Palace> Ziggurat 8 says, "I believe that is when we
scheduled it, yes."
<Fac-Palace> Ness clears his throat. "Anyway, I still have a
couple things I need to check out. But I'll probably need to talk to
Kivxi. And then either Axel or Captain Stuffypants again."
<Fac-Palace> Station says, "It'll be a close one."
<Fac-Palace> Yuffie Kisaragi says, "Hey, just the man I was
looking for! Where you at? I've got a surprise for
youuuuuu!"
<Fac-Palace> Ziggurat 8 transmits various things blowing up.
"...danger room."
<Fac-Palace> Yuffie Kisaragi says, "I see! Ho ho ho ho
ho... *zoom*"
<Fac-Palace> Ziggurat 8 sigh. "Anyway, yes, it shall be quite
close."
Good ol Danger Room. Perfect place to practically kill
yourself training and not suffer the consequences. ...well that's a
lie, if you get busted up TOO badly you're on your own. Ziggy's smarter
than that, though. The training program he currently has running is a
simulation of Pleroma, and he's busy fighting off some U-TiC soldiers.
Or, he WAS. The last one just collapsed. Seems the
grunts can't hold much of a candle to the cyborg. One has to wonder how
this simualtion is even challenging enough to Ziggy to make a
difference in the fight tomorrow.
What excellent timing! Now Yuffie won't get her head shot off when she
walks through the door. She's wearing that usual toothy grin of hers as
she trots across the floor, hands tucked behind her back. "Hey, Zigs!"
she greets the cyborg cheerfully. "Thanks for letting me drop by! I
wanted to wish you luck in the fight tomorrow, since I probably won't
be able to make it." Her expression darkens as she sulks, dropping her
shoulders. Just thinking about the reason why puts her in a bad mood,
at least for a few moments. It's not her fault! It was that stupid cat,
jumping onto the shelf and knocking over her dad's favorite flower
vase... And now she's /grounded/! How humiliating! Getting grounded is
for little bitty kids, not sixteen-year-old ninjas who can summon
LEVIATHAN to eat the bad guys!
Letting? Well it's not as if the Danger Room is locked.
Ziggy doesn't comment, though, too busy making sure no MORE foes are
coming before stopping to talk. Coast is clear, so he turns to Yuffie.
"Yes, well thanks. But I don't know how much luck is going to help me
now. This is going to be a very difficult fight." He doesn't sound all
too sure of himself. Tch. "I was surprised to get as far as I did. It's
just too bad that the entire time I never faced a villain at all, not
until now." Which was his entire reason for signing up, if Yuffie
happens to remember. She should. She's the one who thought up that
excuse. "Anyway, I intend to fight as hard as I can. But overcoming two
Gamemasters will not be easy..." And K. Rool, but no one likes him.
"Tch!" Yuffie totally agrees with that 'tch' thar. "Don't sweat it,"
she claps his shoulder, punching a fist to her hip with the sage 'I am
so wise' expression on her face. "Let the gamemasters beat on each
other and try not to call attention to yourself. Punch the other guy to
pieces, then jump on whatever's left of the gamemaster. It'll be a
piece of cake!" she grins toothily. Again. "Don't forget how tough you
are," she raises a finger in front of Ziggurat 8's face, and wags it
back and forth. "I saw you bust through a wall just to save me from
Shang Tsung! Not everybody can pull off a stunt like that, right? Just
give it your best shot, I'll take you out to dinner afterwards!" Pat
pat pat!
Ziggy hms. He's heard that bit of advice already. It's
what he has already planned on doing, in fact. But he'll let Yuffie
think she just gave him the BEST ADVICE EVAR, since she came all this
way. "I see. I'll keep it in mind. It does seem likely that it could
happy, I don't believe Station would attack me if I don't attack him,
even though it would be a legal move within the rules of the Melee.
Considering what's happened lately regarding the Fortress there's a
good chance Dual will focus almost entirely on Station, but I cannot
rely on that. I will... decide on the fly, I suppose." He wouldn't feel
too bad losing to Station, if it came down to the two of them. At least
then it would mean a sweep for the Palace, since Etoile and X won their
respective tournaments.
Yuffie Kisaragi grins! Yay, she's helpful! HELPFUL! "Oh
yeah? Well it /just/ so happens that I've got a little good luck charm
for you!" She glances left, glances right, then pushes a tiny
Yuffie-like doll into Ziggy's hand. The doll has bright red pompoms on
its hands. "It /looks/ like a doll. But I'm letting you borrow a little
something as well. Don't tell anyone, I don't want them to steal it!"
She turns the doll over in Ziggy's hand and pulls at the stitching,
revealing a purple glow past the cotton stuffing. "It's a Luck Plus
Materia. It might come in handy! So take good care of it!"
A luck charm? Ziggy was never one to believe in luck.
He doesn't like to rely on something he can't control. Though, luck has
undoubtedly played a big role in the last fight. Perhaps there might be
something to it. "Oh really?" He asks, a bit skeptically, as Yuffie
pushes the item in his hand and reveals the Materia underneath. "I
see..." Well, there's nothing against the rules about something like
this. Why not? He can take any advantage he gets. "Thanks Yuffie, I'll
hold onto it." It may just save his rear. Time will tell.
Yuffie Kisaragi chuckles, and salutes. "My pleasure!
But take good care of it...OR ELSE!" ...What a scary gleam in her eye!
"Those aren't easy to come by, you know? They don't sell them in
stores!" The fact that she'd actually loan her materia to somebody is
saying a lot about her trust in Ziggurat 8. But she also feels like she
still owes him something, after he's helped her when she really needed
her bacon saved.
And let's not forget she's also the one who talked him
into signing up for this tournament. Though since he's gone and gotten
this far he probably can't complain about THAT. Despite his facial
expression, he can't help but feel a cold shiver run down his spine
when Yuffie gives him... THE GLARE. He'll make dang sure to hold onto
this Materia, she can count on that.
Ziggy nods. "We'll see how things go tomorrow, then?" Despite not
wanting to rely on luck he can't help but feel a bit better about his
odds now. "I think it's about time to complete this program, or else
the objective might come looking for me."
Funny he should mention that. At that moment Margulis, or a data
representation of him (love these simulations) appears down one of the
corridors, heading in their direction. "If you'll excuse me..." He
says, before dashing down the corridor to face the BOSS of the
mission!
